Round 1
Ch an additional 3 stitches, and in the 4th ch from the hook do 2 dc. The extra ch-3 at the beginning counts as 1 dc. Ch 3 again, then into the next ch do 3 dc. Ch 1, skip 2 ch, and do 3 dc into the next ch in the foundation. Ch 3, into the next foundation ch do 3 dc. Working along the "bottom" of the chains, do 3 ch. Into the next foundation ch space, the same space as the previous side-bloc of the granny stitch, do 3 dc. Ch 1, skip 2 ch, do 3 dc into the next ch of the foundation. Ch 3 and sl st into the top of the starting ch-3 from the beginning of the round.

Ch 1, work another corner, and continue down the side as for the first one. In the last corner, do 3dc, ch 3, 2 dc and sl st into the 3rd chain of the ch-4 from the beginning of the round.

Round 3
Ch 1, into the same stitch and the next 5 do 1 hdc. Into the next stitch, the second of the ch-3 from the previous round, do 2 hdc. Into the next 13 stitches, do 1 hdc. Repeat the corner. Into the next 9 stitches, do 1 hdc. Repeat the corner. As with the previous long side, do 1 hdc into the next 13 stitches. Repeat the corner. Do 1 hdc into the next 3 stitches, and sl st into the top of the first hdc in the round. Cut and tie off. Weave in ends.
If you'd like some fringe or maybe some small tassels, feel free to add on! The fringe on my example here is right about 3 inches in length, for each strand, before folding over and attaching. Trimming the fringe (or being more precise than I am in the first place) would easily neaten up the edges. I tend to prefer it to look a little wild, myself. You could also use a different border stitch or no border stitch. It all depends on what you like: the possibilities are vast.

| Longer fringe could look pretty good too. |
Thank you to talene and Asherah for testing this pattern!
