A Summary of Goals and Aspirations

   I realized, at some point after my Instagram was established, that I couldn't use it to write thorough reviews or patterns. This wasn't really a problem per say, but it did kind of cut back on the possibilities. I've never been a professional writer, nor even aspired to be one, but I occasionally have an idea or experience I think would be useful to others - and of course, want to share it. I (probably) have enough writing skill to get those things across (given time and effort) so I decided I should try my hand at blogging. It took some time to get ready for release, but here we are with my mission statement!

    The goal of this blog is to share information. I have a fair number of hobbies, I'm likely to collect more as time goes on, and I'd like to try and help others with what I pick up where possible. As it is, most of the posts are likely to be about crochet and knit, and related products like yarn, hooks, or needles. I definitely want to get into stuff like bath products, chocolates, and epoxy resin objects, but for now I should stick to writing about what I actually do. 

    That said, I already have some patterns in mind to post here when they're tidy enough that other people should be able to understand them. If things go according to plan, they'll be crochet and knit patterns - more crochet than knit, because I've been doing that much longer, but as I improve in one area so shall it be written about. I don't have plans for a difficulty rating system yet, but I might come up with one in the future. They're not likely to be all that complex anyway, and there's a lot of other things to post about. So much to do, so little focus...

    Speaking of things I do, I've been a gamer about as long as I've been a crafter! Minecraft stuff I'll probably try to leave on my Planet Minecraft account, since it could use some love, but Pokémon, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and other games will likely pop up here. I probably won't do tutorials since a lot of good ones already exist, but I plan on showcasing things like builds and ideas. Earlier this year I did a "spring collection" of outfits on ACNH - summer collection anyone?

    As time goes on, I aim to learn more and also upgrade the tools I use to make my articles more effective in their purpose, as well as try out new things along the way. I look forward to this adventure, and hope you gain from it too.
